Safe roads are built by the women who cross themGender violence and women fights for human rights in Italy
In Italy, the data of domestic violence suffered by women are worrying. In the country there is also an escalation of complaints for stalking, economic and racially motivated violence like the blackmail of precarious work or a residence permission, which has women and migrants as an easy target.. Since the end of 2016 the movement Non una di Meno, on the wave of the Argentinian movement Ni una menos consequence of a global reaction to gender violence in all its forms and a mirror of the new internationalist dimension of the feminist movement united in fighting battles that have now torn down national borders and distances through the construction of a trans feminist network, has taken to the streets in defense of a fundamental human right acquired for 40 years in the country such as abortion which has recently been endangered due to the pro-life campaigns of Salvini's ultra-conservative government. This work focuses the attention on cases of violence suffered in the country and on the fight of the movement since its creation. |
